The Village of Golf is a very small community, primarily residential, located in southeastern Palm Beach County. The beautiful city of Palm Beach with all of its cultural activities, restaurants, shopping and international airport is just twenty minutes north. Fort Lauderdale and Miami, both having international airports, famous restaurants, sporting events with professional teams, etc lie within one hour south. As a bonus it is less than fifteen minutes away from Delray Beach, one of the most vibrant towns in south Florida, with many very good restaurants, art galleries and boutiques.
The Village residential section comprises approximately 400 acres and 160 homes. There are very few vacant lots. There are no condominiums or townhomes. It is truly a unique community conceived and planned by one individual, Carlton Blunt, and established in 1956. The focal point of the Village is a beautiful 178 acre championship golf course redesigned by Lester George, The Country Club of Florida, and a magnificent club house. The Country Club of Florida is a private club, membership by invitation only.
The homes were planned to showcase the golf course, but not crowd it. The lots are large with the average lot being one acre and all have generous set backs. Homes vary in size from 1,600 to 12,000 square feet, which is the maximum square footage allowable. Current prices range from $2,850,000 to $7,800,000. The Village is also unique in that it has its own water and sewer facilities, a post office, and a small but well stocked library. There is shopping close by for every need at the Village Square Shopping Center.
